From smart contracts securing billions, to products loved by millions

The right hire changes everything.

Hey, I'm Nathan.
I bring two decades of experience developing products, leading engineering teams, and growing developer communities. I take teams from good to unstoppable, and products from idea to adoption at lightning speed. Let's make that transformation happen.
Or connect on LinkedIn
I've seen it all a million times.
  • Projects drag on for months that should have taken weeks.
  • You're burning success-critical time while momentum slips away.
  • Morale dips, engagement fades, and innovation slows to a crawl.
  • Your developers keep polishing code instead of shipping products.
  • You're stuck in the mud, and looking for a way out.
That's where I come in.
Make success inevitable.
I'm a confident leader and builder who's helped set the pace across many organizations to ensure that teams can deliver standout products on time and within budget.

From rolling up my sleeves to fostering a culture where developers inside and outside your company feel empowered to take ownership, I'll make sure to deliver meaningful results that ignite your business's forward momentum.

  • Rapid prototyping and iterative design cycles.
  • User journey mapping, wireframing, and interactive prototyping.
  • Excellent grasp of visual hierarchy, typography, and spacing.
  • Conversion-oriented design and copywriting.
  • I'm not an illustrator and shouldn't be your go-to for logos or other graphical artwork. I focus on interfaces that convert, maintain user attention, and guide users to easily accomplish their goals.
Cross-Team Connective Tissue
I am no stranger to being the bridge between either management and engineering, or the center of the Venn diagram of a combination of other parts of an organization like Marketing, Sales, Product, Design, and Support.
Product Oriented & Business Minded
I have been a founder and understand the urgency of market timing. I lead engineering teams and product development with a consumer-first mentality that keeps both users and management happy.
AI
AI has changed software development forever.
I use AI tools to enhance my productivity and conduct research.

However, I always lead with human creativity and critical thinking, drawing on my years of experience to solve problems and architect solutions rather than relying on an AI trained on the median developer which would only produce typical results, not exceptional ones.
Just want to thank you for everything you do and who you are. You're one of the best programmers I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

Recent Works (only past 2 years)
Below is just a fraction of the fun work that I've done over the past few years.
Vaulta Web IDE
Vaulta Web IDE
The Vaulta (previously EOS) community was suffering from an unusually hard setup curve for smart contract development which required specific operating systems and an abundance of installed binaries and CLIs. This project eliminated that curve by reducing a process that took hours, to seconds.

The project took a week.
Vaulta Documentation
Vaulta Documentation
When I joined the EOS Network Foundation (now Vaulta Foundation) there was no documentation as the previous entity did not have an open source license available.

The project required generating API docs from various repositories, and writing custom documentation as well as the React-based frontend.
The Sound of Blockchain
The Sound of Blockchain
This was a DevRel experiment aimed at getting people’s creative juices flowing and exploring the differences between blockchains by consuming blocks from each blockchain’s APIs and then converting the transaction hashes and counts to audio.

It was done live while streaming the process.
Rug Avenger
Rug Avenger
This is a blockchain beat-em-up. The aim of this project was purely to create something hype-worthy that could make waves on social media for the foundation.

This was around the time of the FTX collapse, where people were angry and wanted an outlet to vent their frustrations. It took about 4-5 days, video editing included.

Sadly, I was pulled off the project in the middle and could not finish it, but it highlights an ability to latch onto trends and execute.
Vaulta Staking
Vaulta Staking
This project included system staking contract changes made around July 2024 to the EOS Network and an example integration frontend to serve as a guide for explorers and staking apps wanting to upgrade their applications to the new standards and structures.

At it’s peak, around $250,000,000 in TVL flowed through this frontend as it became the defacto staking interface for the community, despite efforts to funnel users to more robust experiences.
Sync Swap
Sync Swap
This served as an example of how to create a Uniswap v2 style contract and frontend for Vaulta 2.0 changes that exposed the ability to do inter-contract communication (which was not possible before, unlike EVMs).

The code was open sourced and used by developers in the ecosystem as a template for how to use the new features.
EOS → Vaulta Rebrand
EOS → Vaulta Rebrand
The EOS Network wanted to find a way to rebrand the token name (due to a lot of history attached to the previous name which caused problematic BD efforts) without damaging smart contracts already deployed to the network, or users.

A new smart contract was developed that “routed” the new token ($A) to EOS at the system level and allowed both tokens to live simultaneously so that the network didn’t need to be re-deployed / forked.
Bolt Framework
Bolt Framework
Building on top of the success of the Web IDE, a JavaScript framework was developed to the use the same backend that compiled C++ smart contracts into WASM code and allowed developers to build smart contracts with a Hardhat-style CLI tool.

This project was previously named “fuckyea”, but the name was hard to work around in the more professional settings. Lessons learned :)
YouTube Developer Content
YouTube Developer Content
Exploring what video content could do for the Vaulta network was something that was hard to prioritize with ever-changing priorities, but a few videos ended up driving a large percentage of the new developers that the network had seen to the EVM and Native VM.

In terms of ROI, this was by far the least costly way to drive interest and hit KPIs.
Honorable Mentions
These are projects that I cannot post links to, or exceeded the 2 year time limit, but deserve mentions.
Scatter
A desktop and extension wallet that I founded and grew to 500,000 downloads, 200,000 MAUs, and $4b AUC. Scatter spawned innovations in wallet development that are still used today including privacy management, wallet<>dapp communications, and more.
Doodledapp
A flow-base programmer (similar to Unreal Engine’s Blueprint system) for EVM smart contracts that used abstract syntax trees to generate solidity code from nodes and connections.
Crypto.ez
An all-in-one forkable starter kit for production-grade EVM based dapps which included: Wallet integration, docs & blog, SSO, NoSQL integrations, split testing, observability, analytics, email integrations, and more.
Here's what others have to say.
I feel lucky and honored to have worked with such incredible people over the years. I would never have had the opportunity to reach so high without their kindness, trust, and support.
Nathan has been nothing short of inspirational to work with.

As CCO, my work with Nathan was constant, as he was the critical bridge between the technical teams and my own. He consistently proved to be what many call a "unicorn" in this industry: a hands-on engineer, a clear communicator, and a genuine leader all in one.

He's a true 'force multiplier' who doesn't just contribute his own great work but actively elevates the performance of everyone he collaborates with.

I was consistently impressed by his curiosity, ability to learn new concepts quickly, and strong business instincts.

I had the privilege of working closely with Nathan on a highly successful branding-based token swap.

This major undertaking was a significant achievement for a multi-hundred-million dollar market cap cryptocurrency. This project was successful due to Nathan's leadership and technical expertise.

Nathan is a 'swiss army knife' of an engineer, a rare talent who excels in web design, coding, and strategy alike. He is, without a doubt, one of the best teammates I've ever had.
Benjamin Gorman - Senior Project Manager

Nathan is one of the most enjoyable and intelligent people I have worked with over the past 16 years of my career.

He is an extremely talented developer across a variety of different areas and easily the fastest dev I've worked with.

Nathan can jump on stage, record a podcast, build a website, produce a voiceover for a video just as easily as he can code for 12 hours straight.

This combination of speed, team work, work ethic, natural talent for public speaking, community management and stage presence is extremely rare.

Anyone that hires Nathan is very lucky to have him, and anywhere that I work I'll always hire Nathan.

Nathan is one of the most interesting developers I've had the pleasure of not only learning from but also working alongside.

I used to watch his videos to learn about blockchain around 10 years ago and it blew my mind when I got to work with him.

He will take a product from 0-to-1 in a heartbeat.

One of the most capable engineers you'll ever meet.

Nathan and I met while developing similar apps for a new blockchain. Everything was so new that no one knew exactly how to use it or what it could do. Nathan figured it out quickly and became a trailblazer, while still being eager to share his discoveries and collaborate.

It's been many years now and I'm grateful for all the opportunities we had to work together. It's been a pleasure to solve problems with him and I'd do it all again.

By the time you’ve finished describing the problem, Nathan already has something running.

He blends technical range with creative fluency so seamlessly it feels like instinct, not effort.

Thoughtful, generous, and endlessly resourceful, he’s the kind of teammate who lifts the standard… and everyone with it.
